Head Teacher - Yellow ClassAshley has a Bachelors of Arts in Urban Education and Africana Studies from North Carolina A&T State University and is currently in pursuit of her Master of Science in Education Dual Certification in Special Education and Early Childhood Education from Long Island University. She has worked as a Montessori Head Teacher and as a personal tutor for elementary and early childhood aged children. “My philosophy on teaching is children should never feel like it is a struggle to learn. I infuse love and dedication into all my lessons and I believe it resonates with the children. Children learn best when they are comfortable and in an exciting atmosphere and that exactly what I make my classroom to be. I want my students to love school and be happy to share what they learn in the classroom with their families and the world.”
Assistant Teacher Yellow RoomI’m excited to be a member of the Building Bridges teaching team and being in the classroom as an assistant Two’s Program teacher with Miss Ashley. I have my Master’s degree in Social Work and extensive experience working with young children in Early Intervention as well as clinical therapy. I believe children learn best while having fun. "I enjoy creating opportunities for teaching thru play." I live in Brooklyn Heights with my husband and enjoy walking the promenade and Brooklyn Bridge park.
